Animal Spell’em All iPad App‘Animal Spell’em All’ is an educational app for young children, they learn how to spell and at the same time discover animals from all over the world, some they may never of heard of before. Dragging the letters into place also helps with their motor skills and hand eye coordination. The game is easy to use and the player is guided along the way by Malika, a helpful girl that encourages the player and tells them what they have to do and if they made a mistake. The voice of Malika was recorded by a real child from East London England.

Animated ebook app for the iPadA Leaf In My Hair is the latest ebook by Light Sleepers. It’s an animated children’s book that works on both iPhone and iPad. I tried the iPad version of the app and found it to be exactly similar in concept with their previous animated ebook “Look at All The Animals“. A Leaf In My Hair tells a simple and cute story about a hedgehog and a leaf.

Animated story for the iPadLook at All The Animals is a brand new kids app created by April Peter, Daniel Shneor, Karen Kredo, and Nir Hermoni. It’s an animated children’s book that works on both iPhone and iPad. I tried the iPad version and was immediately delighted by the beautiful artwork, and smooth animations. The book tells a simple and cute story about little girl enjoying the small wonders of life.

Stella and Sam App for the iPadBackyard at Twilight: A Stella and Sam Adventure is a new kids app by zinc Roe. It’s an animated 10 minute story with three mini games. The story is charming, well animated and beautifully illustrated. I had the chance to test it with my three year old daughter Luna. She was immediately interested and explored the app through and through. She enjoyed the story but was especially fond of the three mini games included.

Animal Lost features colorful eye-catching artwork and happy music that will tickle the senses of the small ones. At the time of writing it costs $1.99, but as of May 19th it will be offered for just $0.99 (at least for some period of time ). Free Lite version will also be available at May 19th.

The best apps for kidsIn this post you’ll find reviews of the best kids apps for iPad. All these apps have been extensively tested by my 3-year-old daughter and myself. Obviously we haven’t tested every single kids app but we have tested many (around 90). I have picked the best apps in terms of usability, ability to hold interest, artwork, music and sounds, and value for money. I also considered educational value but I didn’t emphasize it because my daughter doesn’t understand English which is the language in most apps.
