Animal Spell’em All

‘Animal Spell’em All’ is an educational app for young children, they learn how to spell and at the same time discover animals from all over the world, some they may never of heard of before. Dragging the letters into place also helps with their motor skills and hand eye coordination. The game is easy to use and the player is guided along the way by Malika, a helpful girl that encourages the player and tells them what they have to do and if they made a mistake. The voice of Malika was recorded by a real child from East London England.

This game has three difficulties, Toddler, Super Toddler, and Brain Box, Toddler is the easiest and suitable for the very young and children that are in the beginning stages of learning how to spell. They simply drag letters into place and Malika will tell them if they have made a mistake, there is also a graphical indication. No matter how many mistakes the player makes they will be able to play to the end of the game on every difficulty, although it would have an effect on their score. The game also has an adaptive learning system that analyses where the player drags the letters and which animals they have problems with, and so may repeat those animals in later levels to reinforce their learning.

Super Toddler is much more difficult because there is no warning when the player drags the wrong letters into place until they click the submit button, there is also more letters then they actually need, as well as a few more animals that are not in the Toddler mode, there is however a Hint Button of which costs two stars to use.

Brain Box is the hardest difficulty, many more letters then are actually needed and no hint button or warning when the player drags the wrong letter, there is also less time to earn those stars.

Tapping the puppy makes him bark, Tapping Malika makes her talk, and tap the current animal makes Malika repeat which animal it is. At the top right of the screen is animal icons, RED border, you got that animal wrong, Blue is current animal, GREEN is you got that animal correct.
